I passed my CBT 3 years and and passed my full motorcycle test 2 years ago. I have never had any claims or convictions. Tomorrow I will hopefully be passing my practical car test. I want to know if there are any insurers that will take my motorcycle no claims into consideration when quoting me for car insurance so that I can get it cheaper.
it depends entirely on the insurer. a good broker may be able to get you a better no claims bonus allowance but as its not a car they can refuse. i got a 2 year introductory bonus for driving a company vehicle for 4 years before i got my own car.
ask .. u have nothing to lose but in cases like this a good local broker you can chat to may be best bet rather than online.
Please dont say companies like Geico, progressive, etc. i am looking for something that I have not looked at already- that maybe someone on here has experience with. i live in NJ, but that really doesnt matter when shopping for auto insurance.
Please no opinions, just companies Thanks!
The best price depends on a lot of factors. Where you live, how you use the car (commuting, business or just "pleasure" use), and how old you are and if you are married or not. And the state does matter, some companies won't write insurance in New Jersey, because they think there are too many accidents in that state.
Also, are you looking to just get the legally required minimum policy or do you want good coverage? That makes a difference too.
I need to find Car Insurance Rates to compare, but I can't find a site that lets me do a comparison and get results on the internet. I don't want to give them my phone number and email because I know I'll be spammed to death by people trying to sell me something.
Is there anywhere I can go to get comparison rates for free without having to put in contact information like that?
Spam is unsolicited offers, like printer cartridge ads on TV while you are watching *Spiderman*.
Insurance agents won't spam you trying to sell you something, but they'll phone you trying to sell you insurance which is what you need by your own words.
And.. you don't have to buy anything, tell them you want to know their price and that you'll call back the cheapest one that offers what you need.
That's it. Let them talk a bit and by the time you choose one you know_what_you_are_doing and why they need to know about you before they can take a risk.
You can also can create an email address just for spam, it's free and takes less than 2 mins.
How is it that cars with bigger engines are much more expensive to insure? Surely a 1.0 litre car and a 2.5 V6 car both travelling at 70MPH for example will cause the same amount of damage (albeit the car that weighs more may have more momentum).
I can't seem to work out the other side of this arguement. Is there anyone who could explain the difference please?
Thank You!
10 points for best answer.
A bigger engine, means the car can go faster. A faster car does more damage on impact than a slower car. More damage equals higher claims.
Also, cars that are advertised as "fast", tend to be used/purchased more by people who tend to speed, thus having accidents with higher claims damages.
Lastly, the raw data shows that cars with bigger engines, on the whole, have higher/more frequent claims payouts than cars with smaller engines. And it's the last bit that REALLY counts. Why do 16 year olds have higher claims payout? It doesn't matter - they do, so their rates are higher. Why do 8 cyl. engines have higher claims payout? It doesn't matter - they do, so their rates are higher.
My cousin just got her permit and her family is allready looking to get her insured on her vehicle. Where is the best place online to get insurance just for a young driver without paying an arm and a leg?
The best way for any new driver to get insured is to go to one of the top tier online auto insurance sites and you can get a huge discount there at http://www.insureme.com/auto-insurance-quotes.html?Refby=696970 . These guys don't require anything more then a short 1 page form (with no sensitive info ever asked online). As soon as you fill out the form you will get 5 discounted Car Insurance Quotes delivered free straight to your email with no hassles within minutes. Getting insured online is a no brain-er because land based companies have much more expenses than online companies and cant offer you this same discount. In fact , the prices will be so low that she might be able to get her whole family on the plan too for one big savings for them all.
Compare The Meerkat (comparethemeerkat.com) advert which advertises the price-comparison website, Compare The Market (comparethemarket.com).
This is the new shorten advert!
Compare The Market.com compares prices on a number of items including car insurance, home insurance, as well as credit cards, loans and mortgages.
It aims to give you the cheapest quote from a number of big companies, including the AA, the Post Office and HSBC.
The reason for this advert is the constant mis-spelling of Compare The Market, with users inputting Compare The Meerkat instead.
The advert features a russian meerkat called Alexsandr (somtimes spelt as Alexander) who is the founder of Compare The Meerkat. He complains about the number of cheaper car insurance requests and plays the jingles for both of them.
On his website, you can compare meerkats by size, their favourite hobbies and their location.
Certainly one of the best advertising campaigns in recent time. But remember, if you want cheap car insurance, it’s CompareTheMarket.com.
