my dad and his gf are in jacksonville looking for a place to live since we are getting transferred there this summer which is when i can get my license. my dad calls me and tells me that i am getting a motor scooter cuz him and his gf want it and im the only one with out a vehicle, plus it will help on my insurance. and i told him no its gay and so he tells me to look at the Kawasaki version. i look and see the new ninja’s body and so i search for used ones. i find one i can afford and tell my dad. now my mom wont give me the $1000 bucks she was going to give me for a car because she doesnt think it is appropriate for a 16 yr old and it is too dangerous. this is coming from the same 36 yr. old who has 2 tattoos and was going to let me get one (just to show how crazy she is). do u think she is overreacting?
OK well you’re 16 so she’s not over reacting. it took me getting thrown out of my house for me to be able to buy my R6 at the age of 20. you’re so much more likely to be involved in an accident or doing something stupid within your first year of having your license.
maybe dont even get a sportbike, and get something slightly cheaper. if you’re in jacksonville im guessing you’re family might be involved with the military and i know they offer courses at the bases for safety and maybe just offer to take a class or two? if its only about the money then just save up! be happy she’s not forbidding you to own one at all
